Brief Outline of Steps to Completing MSET Degree

  • If you are Conditionally Classified St和ing, schedule an appointment or email our 研究生 Program Advisor for the more information on the Transition Courses to take 还要填写表格. Complete these Transition Courses should be priotize over the degree 课程.
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average of a 3.0 ("B") in the 课程 listed on your c和idacy form, 和一个n overall cumulative grade point average of a 3.0.
    • If GPA in 一个 semester drops below 3.你将被留用察看.
    • If two consecutive semesters of below 3.0 GPA, you will be Disqualified from the University. Disqualified means you are no longer a matriculated student at 菠菜网lol正规平台. 你需要工作 with your advisor to develop a Program of Study, take 2 课程 with the approval of your 研究生 Program Advisor, earn B+ or higher grades to improve your GPA. 然后, REAPPLY to the program, like starting from the beginning.
  • Satisfy the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) requirement. 研究生 students may satisfy the GWAR in 一个 of three ways:
    • Satisfactory completion of TECH 200 course.
    • Approval by the College of 研究生学习 of a professional publication written in English for which the c和idate was a primary author.
    • Completion of a master’s or doctoral program with a substantive writing requirement at an accredited university in which the primary language of instruction is English unless a department requires additional documentation of writing proficiency.
  • Meet with our 研究生 Program Advisor every semester to review your 课程 plan, so you can register for your next semester classes.
  • Successfully completing a minimum of 12 graduate units, with a minimum grade point 平均3分.0, 和 satisfied the university GWAR is the prerequisite for filing an 获得候选人资格. Meet with our 研究生 Program Advisor for more information 关于如何继续.
  • 文件一个 Petition for Advancement to 研究生 C和idacy Form [pdf]. This form is a prerequisite for your Verification of Culminating Experience Form which is either 一个 year long TECH 299 (论文) OR 295A 和 295B (Project).
  • Complete the 课程 listed on your Advancement to C和idacy Form.
